Assistant Teaching Professor of Organic Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry & Biochemistry at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position in organic chemistry. The primary teaching responsibilities for this position will include instruction of large organic chemistry lectures as well as organic chemistry laboratory courses. This position offers the potential for pedagogical innovation in a collaborative team of experienced, pedagogy-driven faculty. Additional associated responsibilities include instruction and oversight of graduate and undergraduate teaching assistants, student assessment, and service on one or more departmental committees based on the candidate’s expertise and/or interest and departmental needs. We seek a candidate with a strong background in organic chemistry instruction and innovative teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Additionally, a strong candidate will exhibit a demonstrated commitment to UMBC’s values of inclusive excellence. A successful applicant should have a Ph.D. in chemistry or a related field, with a minimum of an M.S. degree required.
