The Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry in the Charlie Dunlop School of Biological Sciences at UC Irvine invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in Structural Biology and Biochemistry with a focus on spectroscopic (e.g., XAS, EPR, NMR, and DNP) and/or computational approaches (e.g., QM/MM, DFT) to investigate enzymatic systems, preferably containing metallocenters. However, qualified candidates in all areas of Enzymatic Structural Biology and Biochemistry are encouraged to apply. Applicants should hold a Ph.D., or M.D. or equivalent degree. The successful candidate is expected to develop an independent and internationally recognized research program and teach at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of a curriculum vitae, a 4-page statement of research interests and future research plans and a 1-page statement of teaching and mentoring experience. Please include contact details for three potential referees. Reference letters will only be solicited for candidates under serious consideration. The Charlie Dunlop School of Biological Sciences offers a collegial environment where collaborative activities are valued. Research plans that identify synergistic connections with existing UC Irvine research programs are encouraged.
