Stanford University

Stanford Science Fellow

The Stanford Science Fellows program is now accepting applications from outstanding graduating doctoral students and early-career postdoctoral scholars who are committed to advancing foundational research in the natural sciences, working across disciplines with exceptional scholars from around the world, and bringing diversity of thought and experience to the global community of scientists. Stanford’s top-ranked science and engineering departments, as well as its many interdisciplinary laboratories and research institutes—all situated in close proximity to each other—provide an unparalleled range of opportunities for collaboration.

Approximately eight to ten new fellows will be chosen by faculty from departments and schools across the natural sciences. An important selection criterion is the applicant’s commitment to enhancing demographic and intellectual diversity in Stanford’s scientific community.

Stanford Science Fellowships are awarded for a term of three years. Fellows will receive an annual stipend of $93,000, benefits including health insurance, $8,000 per year in supplemental funds to support research and professional development, and up to $2,500 in relocation expenses. The program includes community-building activities to foster professional development and leadership skills, as well as workshops, seminars, and informal discussions with Stanford faculty and visitors.

You may learn more about the program and meet the current fellows at stanfordsciencefellows.stanford.edu. Interested applicants must apply through Academic Jobs Online by October 17, 2025.
