This award is named in honor of the late Marilyn Yarbrough, Kenyon parent and trustee. A legal scholar and university administrator who was a former editor of the Black Law Journal and a member of the Pulitzer Prize Board, Marilyn Yarbrough often addressed gender and racial discrimination in her scholarship and teaching.
The Department of Energy Science and Engineering (ESE) at Stanford University invites applications for a tenure-track faculty appointment at the Assistant Professor level. We are seeking exceptional candidates with a strong commitment to research and teaching in the broad area of sustainable subsurface energy systems, with a particular emphasis on geothermal energy and/or subsurface hydrogen production and storage.
Salary range: Starting salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. A reasonable estimate for the annual salary range (academic year, nine-month basis) for this position is $125,000 - $140,000 for Assistant Professors; $145,000 - $165,000 for Associate Professors; and $170,000 - $200,000 for full Professors.
Anticipated start: July 1, 2026, with the academic year beginning in September 2026. Degree requirements must be met by June 30, 2026 for employment effective July 1, 2026 and beyond.
