About the Position:

The Department of Biology in the College of Arts and Sciences at North Central College invites applications from broadly trained physiologists for a tenure-track position to begin Fall 2026. Appointment at the rank of assistant professor is likely, but qualified candidates may be considered for a higher rank.

The duties in this role include:

  • Teach an advanced course in the candidate’s area of specialty, introductory and capstone courses in our innovative research-focused curriculum, and direction of and instruction in vertebrate anatomy and physiology courses for biology and pre-health.
  • Utilize active, engaging pedagogies in the classroom.
  • Develop an active research program engaging undergraduate students.

Basic Qualifications:

Basic qualifications are required at the time of application.

  • PhD in physiology, cellular/molecular/integrative physiology, comparative physiology, or related field; postdoctoral experience desired.
  • Applicants must demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship.

Salary Range:

The budgeted salary range for this position is:

Assistant Professor: $62,000-$67,000

Associate Professor: $72,000-$78,000

Full Professor: $83,000-$88,000
