The project aims to bring the systems neuroscience of olfaction into a more ethologically relevant context, advancing our understanding of naturalistic stimulus processing and odor-guided naturalistic behavior. There will be a substantial investment in understanding the role and relevance of oxytocinergic signaling in olfactory areas during social interactions.
