University of North Carolina at Charlotte logoApplications are invited for a tenure-track position at the assistant professor level in statistics at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte starting August, 2021. Required qualifications are a Ph.D. degree or equivalent in statistics, biostatistics, financial statistics, or other area of applied statistics, with a strong research interest in data science; a commitment to establishing a productive research program, and a commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels and to building a culturally diverse work, research, and teaching environment. This position is part of the department’s effort to support the data science program at UNC Charlotte. Therefore, preference will be given to applicants with expertise and experience in computational statistics and data science; a strong commitment to interdisciplinary research and commensurate experience; and potential for external funding.
