NIH-funded Short Courses in Systems Biology

Center for Complex Biological Systems

Accepting applications for NIH-funded short courses @ UCI this spring:

Systems Biology – Foundations and Cancer Systems Biology

Prep week (online): 5/24,25,26,31, 6/1,2

Core weeks (on site): 6/6 - 6/16

The Systems Biology – Foundations and Cancer Systems Biology short courses are NIH-sponsored, didactic and practical educational experience devoted to training in systems biology. The Systems Biology – Foundations course also includes teaching of collaborative skills and mentoring activities for career development.

The courses have been designed to serve both individuals from quantitative and computational disciplines who wish to apply their training to biology, as well as individuals from biological and biomedical science who wish to move their research in more quantitative and computational directions.

The "Preparatory Week" for both courses is held online, and the "Core Weeks" are held in person on the UC Irvine campus, in beautiful Southern California, for the following week and a half. The "Prep Week" will be offered as a half-day program (9:00am to noon, Pacific Time). The "Core Weeks" will be an all-day program over the course of the program dates. The applicants have the option to select to participate in the "Prep Week Only" or the "Full Course."

Application is open to scientists and trainees at all levels. Please apply at the "Registration" page of each website linked above.

We strongly encourage applications from scientists and trainees with diverse backgrounds and life experiences, including those who identify as underrepresented in the biomedical field.

Please e-mail ccbs@uci.edu for questions.
