Salisbury University logoThe Department of Biological Sciences at Salisbury University (SU) is accepting applications for the position of Teaching Postdoctoral Fellow. This position is supported by a National Science Foundation grant aimed at recruiting promising scholars who are committed to diversity in the academy and to prepare those scholars for a possible tenure track appointment at SU. We are particularly interested in receiving applications from individuals who are members of groups that historically have been underrepresented in the professoriate. The position will be a two-year term beginning August 16, 2021, and includes a stipend, health benefits, funds for conference travel and preparation of scholarly work, office and lab space with computer, and other privileges at the university.

Area of Specialization: Candidates with teaching and research interests in all areas of biological sciences will be considered.

Primary Job Duties: The fellow will teach about 9 contact hours (2-3 courses or labs) each semester, which may include directing student-driven research. Each fellow will be provided teaching and research mentors and professional development opportunities across the campus and University of Maryland system. The remainder of the time will be devoted to pursuing research.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have completed their doctoral degree in Biology or related science when the term of appointment commences and must be no more than three years beyond receiving the Ph.D.

Preferred Qualifications: Successful candidates will be selected on the basis of teaching and scholarly promise and potential to add to the diversity of the SU community.
