The Center for Motivation and Change (CMC) is accepting applications for postdoctoral fellows to join our staff in summer/fall 2022.
Established in 2003, the Center for Motivation & Change (CMC) is a group practice of dedicated clinicians and researchers who rely on science and kindness to help people change. We employ respectful, flexible, evidence-based approaches to address substance use and compulsive behavior problems as well as other mental health issues, including anxiety disorders and trauma/PTSD. Through compassion, collaboration, and the best science has to offer, we help people make life-enhancing and long-lasting changes.
CMC offers clinicians the opportunity to work in a collaborative, stimulating and very supportive environment. Clinicians provide primarily individual (adult and adolescent) and group therapy and also have the ability to provide couples and family treatment as desired. Clinicians receive training and weekly supervision in cutting edge evidence-based approaches in the field of addiction as well as anxiety disorders and trauma. Clinicians also have the opportunity to train in CRAFT and the Invitation to Change (ITC) approach in order to help support family members and communities surrounding people who struggle with substance use. Weekly team meetings provide a setting where we collaborate as a team and receive training with outside experts. Additionally, there are opportunities for additional training in areas of interest (e.g., evidence-based trauma treatments, ACT, EXRP).
CMC is committed to creating an environment of safety for our staff and clients. We hold regular diversity and inclusion trainings for our staff and get on-going outside professional supervision to ensure our actions and practices are culturally competent across race, ethnicity, socioeconomic background, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, gender identity, disability status, and age. Many of our clinicians engage in outside work such as teaching positions, supervision and private practice.
We offer a competitive salary (W2) and benefits package including paid time off, health insurance, generous matching 401k, and funding for professional development. CMC also offers a very favorable incentive plan for full time psychologists. Experience with MI, CBT, and substance abuse treatment preferred. We are also interested in candidates with an interest in trauma/PTSD treatment, as well as adolescent and family/couples work. Expertise in vocational assessment or executive functioning training is welcome.
