AACTE Holmes Postdoctoral Program in Education and Human Development

Wheelock College of Education and Human Development

Boston University (BU) Wheelock College of Education and Human Development invites applications for the AACTE Holmes Postdoctoral Program in Education and Human Development. The main goal of the program is to support the development of early career scholars whose research centers on issues of equity, justice, and diversity in education and human development.

BU Wheelock is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Teacher Education (AACTE) Holmes Scholars Program, which provides mentorship, peer support, and professional development opportunities to doctoral students from historically underrepresented communities who are pursuing careers in education. The program also aims to help AACTE member institutions develop an outstanding pool of diverse candidates for faculty and other leadership positions. We encourage applications from early career scholars whose research addresses issues of equity, justice, and diversity, and who seek a vibrant, growing academic community dedicated to transforming learning and teaching for children and youth from historically underrepresented communities.

The AACTE Holmes Postdoctoral Program in Education and Human Development provides funding for two years in residence at BU Wheelock, beginning Fall 2020. It includes mentoring from BU Wheelock faculty in support of developing publications for peer-reviewed journals and research grant applications, conducting research projects, expanding research repertoires, and deepening disciplinary knowledge. Postdoctoral associates have the opportunity to gain university-level teaching experience at the college.
