Sonoma State University: Human Anatomy Lecturer Position

The Department of Biology at Sonoma State University invites applications for an instructor’s position in Human Anatomy (90-95% time). The successful candidate will teach the course (a single combined lecture with multiple lab sections depending on enrollment), primarily to pre-nursing, kinesiology, and other pre-health professional students. The instructional responsibility includes both the fall and spring semesters. The course has a strong laboratory component centered on the use of cadavers. Excellent staff technical support is available. The position will start in fall 2018.

Applicants must hold a minimum of a master’s degree in one of the biological sciences with significant coursework or professional experience directly related to human anatomy or comparative vertebrate anatomy. Prior experience in teaching human anatomy, as well as requisite teaching skills and appropriate teaching experience, is strongly preferred.

Additional preferred qualifications include an interest in innovative teaching strategies to foster student success, experience with diverse student populations, and the interest in working with pre-health professions students.

Salary level will be determined based on educational qualifications and prior teaching experience in the field. Excellent benefits are available.
