California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo: Full-Time Lecturer - Anatomy and Physiology

The Biological Sciences Department in the College of Science and Mathematics at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo is seeking a full-time, academic year lecturer with relevant teaching experience to begin September 13, 2018.

Ph.D. or equivalent in biology or related field. Candidates with a master’s degree and extensive teaching experience may be considered. Teaching experience and course coordination experience required. Experience dissecting human cadavers for teaching anatomy also required. The successful candidate will be hired for a one-year contract with the possibility of extension. Responsibilities include coordinating and teaching a variety of anatomy & physiology courses, introductory-level and upper-level, for majors and non-majors; maintaining a human cadaver dissection program for senior project students; evaluating student learning and the assignment of grades. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.

The Biological Sciences Department offers programs leading to three Bachelor of Science degrees (Biological Sciences, Microbiology, and Marine Sciences), a Master of Science in Biological Sciences including a specialization in Regenerative Medicine, and minors in Biology, Biotechnology, and Microbiology. In keeping with the Learn-by-Doing tradition at Cal Poly, our undergraduates are required to participate in research projects through a faculty-facilitated senior project, in order to graduate. The department also offers courses to satisfy general education and breadth requirements.
