University of North Carolina Wilmington: FOUR Faculty Positions in Coastal and Marine Sciences

The University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW) is pleased to invite applications for up to 4 expansion, tenure-track positions in Coastal and Marine Sciences as part of a cluster hire (9 month faculty positions; hiring rank is open). The location of workplace will be on the Main UNCW Campus or CMS Myrtle Grove, depending on the specialty of work. We seek applicants who can complement and enhance existing areas or develop new areas of expertise as we continue to grow our highly regarded coastal and marine programs. Research areas such as climate change, mariculture, marine biotechnology, bioinformatics, and modeling of coastal/marine processes are of interest; but, candidates with outstanding externally funded research programs in any area relating to coastal and/or marine science are encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be expected to develop and maintain a vibrant, externally-funded research program and take an active role in teaching, student mentoring, and service. There is a possibility for a lead hire to help guide subsequent hires in a specific area of expertise.

Minimum requirements: The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in a coastal or marine science-related discipline by time of appointment, with a record of publication and research and the ability to generate externally funded research.

Preferred qualifications: We seek applicants who can complement and enhance existing areas or develop new areas of expertise as we continue to grow our highly regarded coastal and marine programs. Preference will be given to applicants who have achieved prominence in their field with an excellent record of publication, extramural funding, student mentorship, and other scholarly activities.
