University of Minnesota: Postdocs in Chemical Biology, Proteomics, and Cellular Imaging

The Parker laboratory (ParkerLab.org) in the Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biophysics at the University of Minnesota is seeking motivated, productive, creative Postdoctoral Research Associates to join our multidisciplinary team. We are studying protein phosphorylation in living cells using a combination of chemical biology, proteomics, and cellular imaging. We are also developing multi-omics workflows for cancer biomarker discovery using data-independent mass spectrometry. Research in our NIH-funded laboratory involves a wide variety of approaches, including peptide probe design and synthesis, development of probes for fluorescence imaging of live cells, mass spectrometry-based analytical techniques and data analysis, and high-throughput and high-content fluorescence assay development.

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Bioengineering, Chemical Biology, Medicinal Chemistry, or a related field is required. Experience with peptide synthesis and analysis, cellular optical imaging techniques, and/or protein biophysics preferred. Experience in chemical biology is also encouraged. Competitive candidates will have a strong track record of first-author publications from their graduate research and any previous postdoctoral work, with evidence of leadership and initiative-taking, as well as collaborative contributions.
