Texas A&M University: Plant Pathology & Microbiology Assistant/Associate Professor and Extension Specialist

The Plant Pathology and Microbiology Department at Texas A&M University is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor/Extension Specialist at the Texas A&M Research/Extension Center in Amarillo, TX. This 12-month, non-tenure track appointment will lead and coordinate extension education in plant disease management for the Texas Panhandle and Rolling Plains and supervise the High Plains Diagnostic Laboratory. Responsibilities include working with growers and commodity groups to address current and emerging plant diseases in Texas agriculture, including wheat, corn, grapes, potatoes and other vegetables. Developing an active extension program, an applied field research program, and a distinguished publication record are expected. A Ph.D. in plant pathology is required, with an understanding of extension. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively are required.
