Oberlin College: Assistant Professor of Geology

The Department of Geology at Oberlin College, Oberlin, OH, invites applications for a full-time tenure track faculty position in the College of Arts and Sciences in an open field of geoscience. Initial appointment to this position will be for a term of 4 years, beginning fall semester of 2018 and will carry the rank of Assistant Professor.

We are seeking a broadly trained geoscientist whose interests do not substantially overlap with those of the existing faculty. The incumbent will teach the standard teaching load (currently 4.5 courses per year, lecture course with lab = 1.67 courses), including our introductory course with lab and other courses in their area of expertise.

Among the qualifications required for appointment is the Ph.D. degree (in hand or expected by first semester of academic year 2018). Candidates must demonstrate interest and potential excellence in undergraduate teaching. Successful teaching experience at the college level is desirable.
