Assistant or Associate Professor (Research)

The Center for Evidence Synthesis in Health and the Department of Health Services, Policy, & Practice of the Brown University School of Public Health invite applications for a faculty position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the University’s research track.

Applications are encouraged from physicians or methodologists with expertise in evidence-based medicine, including systematic review and meta-analysis, and preferably experience in guideline development and decision or cost-effectiveness analysis. This scientist will serve as a Senior Project Lead at the Brown Evidence-based Practice Center (EPC), assisting the EPC Directors in the day-to-day operation of the EPC and applying for, leading, and conducting systematic review and related projects. The successful applicant will serve as mentor and trainer for other projects at the Center for Evidence Synthesis in Health; mentor others to serve as project leads at the Brown EPC; and mentor/train graduate students, K12 scholars, trainees, clinical research methodologists, and biostatisticians. In addition, she or he will assist with or lead the development of new methodologies for systematic review and meta-analysis; participate in the development of meta-analysis software and of the Systematic Review Data Repository; conduct empirical research; interpret and contextualize results; disseminate advances and findings via manuscripts and conference presentations; and participate in other EPC and Center activities, including representing the EPC at Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) and other meetings. It is expected that the candidate will be able to make significant scientific contributions to projects and contribute to design of protocols, participate in grant submissions of the Center for Evidence Synthesis in Health, and submit his or her own grant proposals.
