University of Houston-Downtown: Assistant Professor in Urban Education - Educational Psychology
The Department of Urban Education at the University of Houston-Downtown (UHD) is seeking applications for a position at the Assistant Professor level with appointment beginning fall 2013.
An earned doctorate in educational psychology or in a related field with a focus on assessment and a state issued teaching certificate are required. Doctoral candidates who are nearing completion are also encouraged to apply. University level teaching experience and at least three years public school teaching experience are preferred. All candidates must have demonstrated ability and/or interest in teaching in a multi-ethnic, multicultural environment.
Responsibilities include teaching graduate and undergraduate courses in educational psychology or assessment. All faculty members are expected to maintain an active research agenda, to participate in the department’s field-based program, and work collaboratively with other faculty in the EC-6, 4-8, and 8-12 programs and with public school partners.
