Job Summary
The successful candidate is expected to have a strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research at both the undergraduate and graduate (M.A.) levels. Responsibilities will include: (1) Teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in Physical Chemistry and General Chemistry, and opportunities to teach courses in interdisciplinary fields, such as spectroscopy, materials science, fuel science, biochemistry, and environmental chemistry (2) Establishing a vigorous, externally funded research program in his/her area of expertise that involves graduate and undergraduate students and (3) Service to the University, profession, and community. Being able to effectively work with students and other faculty is very important. This is a tenure track position.
Additional Functions
The successful candidate must provide academic advisement to assigned students, including the development and monitoring of their degree plans. Must be able to contribute to curriculum development and program assessment.
Qualifications / Experience
The candidate must have expertise in using educational technology in instruction and commitment to scholarship and service. Demonstrated experience in online teaching is desired.

The successful applicant will possess strong communication and organizational skills and a desire to develop innovative learning experiences. Candidates should be dedicated to excellence in teaching, with a strong commitment to high professional standards, both in and outside the classroom.
