University of Wisconsin-Madison: Aging T32 Postdoctoral Fellowship

Funded by the NIH/NIA, the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Division of Geriatrics, Biology of Aging and Age Related Diseases T32 training grant focuses on the basic mechanisms of aging, preventative interventions, and clinical problems encountered by older adults. At the University of Wisconsin (UW) - Madison, this grant provides career development for exceptional post-doctoral scholars through mentored training with our 35 mentors, the Biology of Aging Seminar series, and conferences. The major mission of our T32 is to provide interdisciplinary, state-of-the-art training to talented postdoctoral fellows in both biology and clinical/translational research in aging and related diseases. With an impressive history of success over the past 25 years, our T32 grant has generated an outstanding record of academic success, with 96% of the postdoctoral fellows trained over the past 15 years pursuing an academic career.

Our Biology of Aging T32 program is directed by Sanjay Asthana, MD, FACP, Associate Dean for Gerontology, an acclaimed physician scientist with extensive experience in clinical and translational aging research. Dr. Asthana has overseen the training of 47 predoctoral and postdoctoral fellows. Rozalyn Anderson, PhD, a tenured Associate Professor of Medicine and T32 Associate Director, is actively focused on caloric restriction within biology of aging research. Dr. Anderson has had many years of interaction and participation with this exceptional program, initially a postdoctoral scholar on this T32 grant.
