Bates College: Visiting Assistant Professor of Biology

The Bates College Department of Biology invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor of Molecular Biology, beginning August 1, 2019. Ph.D. is required by the start date, postdoctoral experience is preferred.

We expect this position to teach a five-course load, where a lecture course counts as one and a lecture/lab course counts as a one and one half. We value innovative and inclusive pedagogy. Teaching responsibilities will include a lab-based upper-level course in molecular biology and a lab-based upper level course of the candidate's choice (such as developmental biology, cancer biology, biotechnology, etc.). In both the fall and the winter, the candidate would also teach a 100-level elective course in the applicant's area of expertise.
